We're all back and running!

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Everyone is back from vacation and we are dyeing up a storm and should have lots of new items in the next couple of weeks.  A couple highlights:

1.) A new line of gradient colors on 80% superwash merino/20% silk tops (roving) are currently being dyed up.  We sent some off to and Jillian said the reviews should appear in the Winter issue – you’ll see them begin to appear in the next couple of weeks though.  The names of the colorway lists the order of the colors.  For instance, the first colorway is eggplant-  mulberry – copper – gold.  We will probably start listing with the first 6 colorways sometime in the next couple weeks.

2.)  We are dyeing up new items like crazy for the Michigan fiber festival in a couple of weeks.  If you are planning on being there, look for us in The Fold’s booth, where we will be selling on consignment.  It should be a steamy good time!!

3.)  The reviews for Fiber Optic faux-BATIK BFL tops (roving) are in the current edition of Knitty fiberfiesta – if you get a chance, check them out here.

4.)  Finally, we have pretty much outgrown the dye studio in my basement.  I know – it’s been a crazy fun 2 years here, but we really need more dye shop space.  I want somewhere where I can teach some dyeing/spinning/knitting workshops and I would like to have somewhere where knitters can meet and relax.  So we are  currently looking for a place where we can have a dyeworks in the back and a retail/yarn&fiber studio for folks to relax and meet in the front.  A place where we can have workshops for fiber folks to play with dye and create their own masterpieces, to learn to spin on antique walking wheels or to use a drop spindle, to learn all sorts of wonderful knitting techniques.  A place where there is always a pot of coffee available and a comfortable setting to meet with other knitters.  I’ll keep you posted on the progress on this front and know that if you are ever in Cincinnati, we’d love to see you!
